This book was born of a collective of coaches. What binds us is, above all, our passion and our commitment to our craft as coaches and supervisors. We share the belief that in practising it we help the world change — adding a little more Love with a capital L, like hummingbirds at work.
Every day, in our sessions, we meet human beings with whom we unfold — tenderly and delicately — the complexity of their situations, and our sessions often mirror the great issues of the world. We were looking for a way to pass on and share what we live through with our clients.
This book is for anyone who wants to reflect on their practice and to enrich and strengthen their skills as a coach or supervisor. It is also for anyone curious about what coaching is and what happens during a session, and for anyone who feels a citizen of the world.
It is made up of 15 coaching cases, explained and supervised, each independent of the others. They were chosen for their singularity and for their connection to the issues of our time. At the end of each case are lines of reflection for your own practice. You will also find in this book, hidden between the lines or stated plainly, our beliefs, our values, our talents — and our mistakes and our flaws too. Yes: we are still learning, and we too keep working on ourselves.
